4/17/17-It's Worth It

This week was not as high as the last one, but it's all good. We have 3 people getting baptized this Saturday so after church they had their interviews. Alexander passed with flying colors and is as funny as ever. He's honestly the funniest investigator I've ever had. I just want you all to meet him!!! We took him to the baptism of another person and when they went under the water he said awhhhsuuu!!!!! It was so funny. Snyder and his wife are so excited - they have come so far but when they came out they left and that was it. It turns out they are not married as they led us to believe and are living together. They can't get baptized until after they get married.  The mission is teaching me sooooo much - way more than I can ever begin to write but honesty and patience are some of the biggest.

We are working really hard and finding people to teach but we can always be better, always always do better. This week was really incredible. I am forever and ever eternally grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. I know He lives. I know He loves us. Please read chapter 7 of Alma and chapter 22 of Luke. He died for YOU. HE KNOWS YOU. HE LOVES YOU!! I look forward to the day with all the energy of my heart when I can finally fall at His feet and thank Him. I love to read chapter 20 of John verses 26-31. I can't imagine how Thomas must have felt but all he got out before he sobbed was "My Lord, My God." The Spirit was testifying that He is the Christ to all of us. It's up to us to take up our cross and follow Him like Jesus taught. It's hard, but He knows. Not everyone is going to like it, He knows. However, it's worth the blessing 1 Corinthians 2:9 - my goodness it's worth it.

We bought a huge watermelon from a guy selling it outside of our house for 8 soles, like 3 dollars hahaha, never change Peru. We also had CTR rings made with our names and MPLO which stands for mission Peru Lima Oeste and HLJ which is CTR in Spanish. It makes me so happy to be a missionary. It's going to hurt so bad not being able to wear my Saviors name over my heart when it's all done. We are so blessed to have Him in our lives. He wants to come into our lives more but it's up to us. It's hard but I testify it's worth it.

Love,
Elder Nielsen
